My family and I joined the Orlando Jeep Club in March '09 at an event in Casselberry. I was encouraged to join by a friend and current member, Charlie Hasty. I got interested in Jeeps about 3 years ago when I bought a '78 CJ5 from a client. It was rough but rebuildable so we ( a friend and I) thought we should restore it. He's got the experience and he told me what to do and I did it!

The CJ5 got everything new. This was my introduction to Jeeps, Jeeps clubs, and Jeep parts suppliers, and "Jeepers". It has a 258 - 6, 3 speed, new steel body, new paint (2007 Sublime), Line-X'd interior, all new bushings, new radiator, starter, pumps, pulleys, battery etc. It has a 4 inch lift with 305 Goodyear MTR's on 16 inch Procomp wheels. It’s driven mainly around town and to the beach.

I am married, with three daughters-- ages 13, 11 and 9. Unfortunately, they don't really fit in the CJ5, so I convinced my wife that a Scrambler would be 'better'. She agreed (she also encouraged me to buy a Corvette (C-6) 4 years ago, and I did). We bought one, a 1983 Scrambler, and its the next project. It was a daily driver, black with tan top. Now, it’s in pieces; a frame, body parts and boxes. The frame is completed, stripped to bare metal, painted Matthews frame black, new shocks, boots, and bushings by Energy Suspension. The motor was stripped and re-painted. It’s a 258 with Mopar fuel injection and a 4 speed transmission. The interior will be Line-X'd and fitted with Spice Denim seats; 2 buckets and 2 bench

seats with a full cage, same 305's and Procomp wheels as on the CJ5, and a 4 inch lift. It has a tan Safari type soft top, too. We have selected the exterior color to be 2009 Lexus Moss Green, a light grey - green color, with factory striping, (terracotta and yellow). On both Jeeps, the JEEP was cut out, inverted, and welded back in. It looks factory and I have never seen it before. It definitely is unique!
